My name is Amal Sweimeh , I am a 15 year old student in high school , and for a long time , I felt stuck . Every morning , I would wake up, get ready for school , and while waiting for the bus , briefly watch the news on television alongside my family. I would then get on the bus , and on my way to school , view articles , images, and messages , while hearing the voices of  journalists , civilians , and politicians - all through Instagram and TikTok .

I would arrive at school , only to spend my break time talking to my friends about the news. Then, I would go home , only to witness the news on television once again. When I was not greeted by the voices of journalists , civilians , and politicians , I was met with the melancholic , frustrated , and aghast expressions and voices of my family members. 

Every night , I would lie wide awake , pondering whether there was a way to stop what was happening in the world , or if we should all stand idle , witnessing the world slowly but surely drift further away from justice and peace. This all led me to begin researching and learning more about international law : what it is , how it works , and how it applies to the real world. 

This journey led me to create The Global Jurist  ,a website dedicated to helping others understand how international law applies to global conflicts , disputes , and human rights issues. Through this platform, I hope to provide people with a deeper understanding of the events shaping our world and give them the opportunity to contribute , whether by learning, supporting related causes, or publishing their own research. My goal is to ensure that no one has to live with the feeling of being “stuck” again.
